I came to the dealer because I got a proactive email from OnStar that something could be wrong with the starting system. Seeing I got the extended warranty, I didn't think twice and brought the car in. After the dealer diagnosed it, I was told it was a battery. Batteries are never covered in extended warranties and now I'm stuck to foot the bill of $700 for a what amounts to a battery change and very little diag. These charges are out of control and unsustainable. If I knew it was going to be a battery, I would have done it myself significantly cheaper. This is the last time I will be fooled by a vague proactive warning from OnStar. OnStar is nice on one hand, but I think GM is using it to get more people to come to the dealer. ****update 5/23/24**** I spoke with a manager at the number below and had a good conversation and expressed my frustration with the costs. He was very understanding and heard what I had to say. We came to an understanding and got a portion of the diag fee back. I appreciate the help.
